It has been around since 1580, placing it amongst the oldest stud farms in Europe. It was breeding horses for the Holy Roman Empire\u2019s royalty, the Habsburgs and the other empires that ruled these lands over its history. All this makes the Lipica Stud Farm one of the most important cultural monuments in Slovenia.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can see almost 300 horses of the Lipizzaner breed there. Although they are known as white, they are actually grey and born brown but lighten up because of their mutated genes when they grow older.
